Before elections were held, the party leader of Roots Party, Prof. George Wajackoyah- whose signature is a durag- was allegedly said to have endorsed Raila Odinga's presidency in a night club by describing him as an individual who pushed Kenya to its liberation status it is in.
He said and I quote,
"The man whose tears come out every day because of what happened to him in jail, including myself. I am here to join liberators. And the person I look at, the person who makes me stand here is none other Raila Odinga,” Wajackoya said.
This statement earned him a title that the was a project to minimize Ruto's votes by taking over the youths, who mostly were said to support the Kenya Kwanza Coalition. This never sat well with most of his supporters and more so, his running mate, Justina Wamae.
She defended herself by stating that, if anything, she will be of contrary opinion just in case everything in Roots Party goes South. He however refuted those claims as inaccurate and misleading and put it clear that he has not endorsed and neither will he endorse Raila's presidency bid. He also insisted that he will be on the ballot and Kenyans should really vote for him so as to transform this country for better. The duo managed to get slightly over 61,000 votes.
Today after the verdict of the Supreme Court, Wajackoyah publicly stated that he was officially a member of opposition and they- together with the rest- will hold Ruto's government accountable especially when it goes wrong.
While giving his statement, he claimed that they had over 6 Million votes and those voters were currently unhappy with the ruling of the Supreme Court. He also not only called for harmony but he also thanked Raila Odinga for having fought for democracy for this country. Before he could conclude his presser, the media shifted to other top personalities, and that had marked the end of his speech to Kenyans for the day.
Justina Wamae responded to this occurrence of events as follows:
"Despite INTIMIDATIONS AND THREATS 😂😂😂😂😂😂woiiii Media imeenda kwa IMPORTANT PERSONS. Ati 6m wapi Roots ilipata 61,969? But ni confirmation alikuwa PROJECT.....pia yeye ALIKUWA anatafuta kazi isipokuwa BET IMEUNGUA."- Justina Wamae, Presidential Running mate, Roots Party.
This comment has however attracted a lot of criticism as people urged her to keep off such comments and move on. Such commentary would also paint her in bad light especially in the public, considering how many people she had won over the campaign period.

A one man race and he won. Ruto is a force by himself
