Moses Wetangula has won the seat for the Speaker of the National Assembly replacing Justin Muturi who had served for the last ten years. This has been announced by the Madam Clerk after Kenneth Marende withdrew from the race. Before this withdrawal, second round of election was to be conducted after both candidates failed to reach the 2/3 required threshold.
After resigning from his senate seat, Wetangula is now Speaker of the 13th Parliament
