Monday the 5th was such an awaited day here in Kenya. The Supreme Court of Kenya was expected to give its final verdict in regards to the elections which were held on the 9th of August, 2022. From noon to past 1pm, the Chief Justice Martha Koome gave a media press which represented the judgement of the 7 judges, which saw the upholding of the results announced by the IEBC on 15th August. This was therefore a confirmation that Dr. William Samoei Ruto was chosen by the majority of Kenyans and was in deed the president elect who won by over 7 million votes and attained 50%+1 rule.
After this announcement, several leaders, presidents, artists and other celebrities have sent their messages to congratulate the fifth president of Kenya, who is set to be sworn in in a weeks' time.
Davido, a celebrated artist artist from Nigeria sent his message via Twitter to the president elect as follows:
"Congratulations to Dr William Samoei Ruto, on being declared 5th President of the Republic of #Kenya.π°πͺ @WilliamsRuto … also Congratulations to the people of Kenya ! DEMOCRACY WINS AGAIN π"-Davido.
From the United States, the 71st Secretary of State under the governance of President Biden sent his congratulatory message the William Ruto and highlighted to deepening the already present working partnership.
"Congratulations to @WilliamsRuto on his election as Kenya’s next president. We look forward to working with the new government and deepening our longstanding partnership for the benefit of Kenyans and Americans alike."- The 71st Secretary of State under the governance of President Biden.
Hakainde Hichilema, the President of Zambia also sent his message and highlighted that he is looking forward to work with him.
"Congratulations to Dr William Samoei Ruto, on being declared 5th President of the Republic of #Kenya. Look forward to working with Your Excellency @WilliamsRuto to strengthen & enhance historical good relations between πΏπ² & π°πͺbased on our shared priorities for our two peoples."- Hakainde Hichilema, the President of Zambia .
President of Uganda wasn't left behind. He acknowledged that he had rang the elected president and he(Yoweri) is looking forward to working with together.
"I rang H.E @WilliamsRuto to congratulate him on the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision to uphold his election as the 5th President of Kenya. I look forward to working with him to strengthen our Strategic Partnership in advancing the EAC agenda. God bless the people of Kenya."- President Yoweri Museveni, President of Uganda.
The president of Sierra Leone, Julius Bio, sent his message to the fifth and applauded the Kenyan people for peaceful elections.
"I congratulate the President-Elect of the Republic of Kenya, Dr William Ruto @WilliamsRuto, on his victory in the August 9, 2022, General Elections. I also commend the people of Kenya for the peaceful outcome of the elections."-Julius Maada Bio
"I congratulate President-Elect @WilliamsRuto and the People of the Republic of Kenya for the successful conclusion of the electoral process with the #SupremeCourtRuling upholding the result. This is a victory for all Kenyans and people of our Region."- Dr. Workneh, Executive Secretary if IGAD
The First Lady also sent her lovely message and quoted a Bible verse from the book of Hebrews 10:23. Mama Rachael Ruto tweeted,

The major competitors especially from Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance has this to say.
Martha Karua- Azimio La Umoja Presidential Running Mate 2022- stated that she respects what the court has concluded but she disagrees with the verdict.
"The court has spoken. I respect but disagree with the findings."- Martha Karua.
Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga also respected the court of law but disagreed with the decision that the court gave.
"We have always stood for the the rule of law and the constitution. In this regard, we respect the opinion of the court although we vehemently disagree with their decision today."- Raila Odinga
Many more leaders are expected to congratulate the Fifth President of Kenya.
